It was August 27, 1963, when Peter Beense first saw the light of day. The baby, who weighed six pounds at the time, had a powerful voice, and now, 50 years later, he can compete with the best singers in the Netherlands. A wonderful career in music that has brought him numerous highlights.

Peter gives concerts at the Royal Theater Carre and effortlessly fills the Heineken Music Hall. During the farewell to his beloved singer Andre Hazes, he performs with numerous colleagues. Peter also sings a posthumous duet with Andre, fulfilling a dream. But there are also duets with Koos Alberts and Harry Slinger, among others. The son of a heating engineer from Amsterdam's Kinkerbuurt neighborhood has now made a name for himself. In 2010, Peter celebrates his silver anniversary in Carre in grand style. But there are more major highlights in Peter Beense's career. He performed on Amsterdam's Museumplein in front of hundreds of thousands of Ajax fans who celebrated numerous championships there with Peter as their cheerleader. And, of course, we mustn't forget the big concert in the Amsterdam ArenA on the eve of the wedding of Maxima and Willem-Alexander in 2002. Peter is therefore proud of the fact that he was allowed to perform for the royal couple.

In recent years, Peter Beense has been a regular guest on various music programs on television. A good example of this is, of course, the TV program "De Beste Zangers van Nederland" (The Best Singers of the Netherlands) and the wonderful concert series "Holland Zingt Hazes" (Holland Sings Hazes). In 2011, he will be performing in the concert series "De Toppers" (The Toppers). In addition, there are of course numerous performances abroad during the holiday periods, where he treats his compatriots to an atmospheric evening full of sing-alongs. In short, Peter Beense continues to enjoy success on all fronts.
