Tom started singing at the age of 10 when he played a troubadour in his elementary school's end-of-year musical. After graduating from high school, he went on to study at the hotel management school in Leeuwarden. Singing took a back seat for a while. Tom got the opportunity to work as a DJ in Callantsoog.
After that, he started working at Bob's Party Palace in Uitgeest. While hanging out at the Ski Hut in Rotterdam, he was spontaneously hired. Tom worked as a regular singer at the Ski Hut five days a week for a year and a half. On weekends, he worked as a DJ at Bob's. In 2006, Tom Haver recorded a CD with two former DJ colleagues. The single reached the top 20, the video clip was shown on TMF, and Jumping Jacks was born. Tom decided to focus entirely on music.
