Former Breda Dome Prison serves as backdrop for music video
Vinzzent, who is mainly known for his upbeat feel-good songs such as the single "Dromendans," has now released a serious ballad. The single is a mix of pop and blues and has a powerful message in its lyrics: sometimes things go wrong in life, and hopefully you can put it into perspective, move on, and say, "This is what it is." The video clip was recorded in the former Koepelgevangenis prison in Breda.
This location also served as the backdrop for the Dutch series "Undercover," among others. Everything has remained in its original condition, and until 2014, there were even prisoners there. The decision to shoot a music video in the prison was an easy one. The line, "My heart is not a prison," is a line in the chorus of "Dit is wat het is" (This is what it is) that means a lot to Vinzzent. The single will be available on all legal download and streaming portals starting October 4.
