ARNHEM – The Mega Piraten Festijn, which will take place on Saturday, December 9, at the GelreDome, is sold out. All 30,000 tickets have been sold. MPF organizer Eddie Mensink considers this a triumph for Dutch-language music. "We have often been able to hang the sold-out sign at the GelreDome, but this is the first time we didn't have to wait until the day itself."

The GelreDome opens at 5:30 p.m., but there is plenty to do at the GelreDome long before that. At 2:00 p.m., RADIONL kicks off the public pre-party in a heated tent on the hospitality square. Everyone is welcome, even those without tickets for the MPF. RADIONL will be broadcasting live from 3 p.m. until around 5:30 p.m., with live performances by six artists. From 5:45 p.m., RADIONL will be presenting its annual review in the stadium. The official program starts at 6:45 p.m. and lasts until around 11 p.m.
The GelreDome edition of the MPF has been the closing event of the MPF season for years. This year, a special guest has been added to the program. None other than Willeke Alberti will be a guest at the Mega Piraten Festijn for the first time. But of course, various other big names from Dutch-language music will also be there. For example, Jan Smit, Jannes, and Frans Bauer.

Celebrations The Mega Piraten Festijn has been touring the Netherlands since 2003. The traveling festival caravan proudly bears the title "Europe's biggest sing-along party." The format of the MPF has remained unchanged for years. A large number of well-known artists perform, and presenter Willie Oosterhuis whips the audience into a frenzy. Willie is stubborn and simply presents in his Low Saxon dialect. And everyone understands him. The atmosphere bursts off the stage! The Mega Pirate Festivals are not parties, they are celebrations. Celebrations of pirate life; celebrations for fans of these radio stations and celebrations of (mostly) Dutch-language music.
