George Baker revives old times during his anniversary year! Fifty years after the George Baker Selection's first single and many hits and shows later, it's time for George Baker's biggest show in recent years, at Ahoy Rotterdam!
With an unparalleled and contemporary show, he will take fans back in time, from Morning Sky and Santa Lucia by Night to, of course, the authentic Little Green Bag and Una Paloma Blanca—they will all be featured!
The anniversary year is full of highlights (including a new album) and will end at the iconic pop temple Ahoy. George could have chosen many locations, but the choice fell on Rotterdam because of the history of the building, and that happens to be the link between the two!
George will not be alone on stage this evening. At his right hand will be George The, the band's regular solo guitarist, accompanied by their own live band. George and George have shared 50 years of ups and downs, still travel the world together in relationship management and as friends, so it quickly became clear that they would be on stage together, accompanied by the Marcel Fisser band and special guests. Last year, the two were on tour in the Pacific, where packed venues went wild.
The songs are now part of the national heritage and the band enjoys absolute cult status in the Netherlands. No party is complete without young and old going wild to Little Green Bag, Paloma Blanca, and many other songs! George is also frequently seen in the media, including his award-winning role in commercials for a supermarket chain and the songs that appear in films and on TV.
