Jan Smit's new single was released today. The track, titled "Liever Dan M'n Eigen Leven" (Rather Than My Own Life), is the second single from the new album Met Andere Woorden (In Other Words), which entered the album top 100 at number 1. The song was written by singer and composer Sanne Hans.

Liever Dan M’n Eigen leven (Better Than My Own Life) was written by Sanne Hans, with the underlying idea that it was time to write something for Jan's wife Liza.
Sanne knows better than anyone what it's like to be away from home a lot, and now that Jan tours Germany extensively every year, she wants to encourage everyone at home with this love song. "Whatever happens, know that I will always come home to you," is the message of the single, according to Jan.

The music video for "Liever Dan M'n Eigen Leven" was filmed at the Forte Village resort in Sardinia. "A small song deserves a small, modest video, and the location in Sardinia completes it," says Jan. The track can be streamed via this link and the video can be viewed here on YouTube.

In addition to this new single, a vinyl version of the album "Met Andere Woorden" will be available from November 30. This is the first time that an album by Jan Smit will be released on vinyl. "Because this is such a special and successful album, I thought it would be a good idea to have a limited edition vinyl made so that the product really comes into its own," says Jan Smit.
