The finale of the search took place on Stephan Jacobs and Jeske van Trigt's morning show. Jan Smit responded to the news live:
"Of course, these are not the least of songs to compete against, and Tranquilo has only been out for two months. I therefore consider it a tremendous honor."

A striking detail is that the words "Tranquilo" and "stylo" did not come from Jan's own pen, but were conceived by Alain Clark.
