On December 8, there was a special broadcast of De Beste Zangers (The Best Singers), dedicated to KiKa and the Princess Maxima Center. During the program, which was filled with emotional duets, viewers were asked to donate. The final proceeds amounted to €1,655,755.
Presenter Jan Smit and participants Jaap Reesema, Henk Poort, Glen Faria, Tabitha, Tania Kross, Maria Fiselier, and Anita Meyer sang their hearts out and shared personal stories. Glen, Maria, and Tabitha had visited children and their families who were dealing with this terrible disease.
The proceeds from the campaign will go to the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht. This money will be used to expand the center by two floors, allowing even more researchers to work toward achieving the shared mission of KiKa and the Princess Maxima Center: a 100% cure rate for childhood cancer with an optimal quality of life.
