After an absence of almost three years, Jan Smit is releasing a brand new single today entitled "Zolang Je Bij Me Bent" (As Long As You Are With Me). It is the precursor to a new album that will be released later this year.

Zolang Je Bij Me Bent was written by Jan Smit together with Alain Clark. Production and composition were handled by Thomas Tol, and mastering and mixing were done by Matt Butler at Abbey Road Studios.

Three years ago, Jan released his platinum album Met Andere Woorden (In Other Words). It was a project in which respected colleagues from the industry wrote songs for him. Bløf and Miss Montreal were among the line-up. It was a special album, but without any songs written by Jan himself. That is about to change. This track is recognizable as Jan Smit, with a fresh and summery sound.

The clip was filmed in the beautiful surroundings of Hoenderloo, to convey the feeling of a 'vacation in your own country'.

"I find it incredibly exciting to release music I've written myself again after more than three years. I hope the fans like it. In any case, I'm very proud of the result," says Jan Smit.
