Jan Smit's new single was released today on New Year's Day. The song, entitled "Betere Tijden" (Better Times), is the third single from his new studio album "Met Andere Woorden" (In Other Words), which was released on September 20, 2018. None other than Paskal Jakobsen and Peter Slager from Bløf wrote the single.
The single "Betere Tijden" was written especially for Jan by Paskal Jakobsen & Peter Slager. The gentlemen, best known for their band Bløf, were approached by Jan over a year ago to write a song for his new album. The album "Met Andere Woorden" features 12 new songs written by well-known Dutch composers.
The idea behind the song is that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
"Even when things aren't going well, you should always remember that better times are ahead, and that's what I wish for everyone in 2019," says Jan Smit.
