Today marks the video launch of Nick & Simon's song Gek Van Geluk. The song is the soundtrack to the new Johan Nijenhuis film starring Plien van Bennekom and Carly Wijs. Gek van Geluk is not only the title song, but also features in the film itself as an important part of the story.
Due to recording commitments and the script, Nick and Simon had limited time to write the song, but they managed to write Gek Van Geluk in just one day. The video follows the release of their albumAangenaamon September 22.
The film Gek Van Geluk (Crazy with Happiness) premieres on November 27 at Pathé Tuschinski and will be shown nationwide in Dutch cinemas from December 7. In the film, Plien van Bennekom plays the role of single mother Lena. She writes love songs, but due to a lack of romance, little comes out of her pen. Then the singer and her best friend Valerie (Carly Wijs) come up with a solution: they hire an unemployed actor to inspire Lena. Lena falls head over heels for the attractive Hugo (Matteo van der Grijn) and the plan seems to be working. Until Lena's stomach is so full of butterflies that a new hit single is the last thing on her mind. In a desperate attempt to get Lena writing again, Valerie puts their long-standing friendship on the line and confronts Lena with the truth. Plien and Carly also sing a bit of Gek Van Geluk in the film.
Nick & Simon are also busy with their extensive theater tour Aangenaam, visiting 59 theaters in the Netherlands (and one in Flanders), which started on October 11. Tickets for the upcoming shows are available viaNTK.nl.
The versatile duo manages to post two new vlogseveryweek on theirYouTube channel, in which they take us along on their weekly activities. In one of their latestvlogs, they gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of the music video for Gek Van Geluk at Wisseloord Studio Hilversum.
