On Friday, November 6, Warner Music will release Nick & Simon's new album, NSG. This concept album marks a milestone in the duo's already successful career. The starting point was to write songs inspired by Simon & Garfunkel, both during the writing process and the actual recording. They chose to write with a wide range of colleagues, including Paul de Munnik, John Ewbank, Nielson, Matt Simons, Guus Meeuwis, Jaap Kwakman, David Björk, Andreas Moe, and Gordon Groothedde. The result is 12 Dutch-language compositions, all of which possess the intriguing beauty of Simon & Garfunkel's oeuvre.
The album was recorded in L.A. with producer Jay Newland, who chose Henson Recording Studios, where 12-time Grammy winner Newland assembled a special group of musicians to shape the recording process. The recording method chosen was the same one used by Simon & Garfunkel in their day. The result, "NSG," is strong, as evidenced by the positive reception of the first single, "Oostenwind," last week. In addition to the 12 new songs, the deluxe packaging of "NSG" includes a bonus disc with 10 Simon & Garfunkel covers that Nick & Simon recorded with their band at Wisseloord Studios. A limited edition LP version of "NSG" will also be released in attractive gatefold packaging with colored vinyl and high-quality 45 rpm technology.
On the 27th, 28th, and 29th, Nick & Simon will perform Nick & Simon & Garfunkel for five shows at the new Coronaproof Scala Theater in Utrecht (Jaarbeurs), for which the last tickets are still available. On December 10, the show will visit the M-Theater in Maastricht.
