Today, October 24, Simon Keizer is releasing his new single "Hoe Zou Het Nu Gaan?" (How Would It Be Now?). Although, new isn't entirely accurate.
The song, written during a writing session between Simon and Bjorgen van Essen, had been sitting on the shelf for quite some time, but didn't fit into the repertoire for his "Ruimte" album and theater show. It was in danger of gathering dust and being forgotten. After the "Ruimte" shows, and now working on completely different projects, Simon revisited the song and concluded that it really had too much potential to go unnoticed. Hence the light-hearted but no less compelling "Hoe Zou Het Nu Gaan" as the new single.
Unforgettable Songs on Television
Coincidentally, the release of "Hoe Zou Het Nu Gaan" coincides with the start of the television program "Onvergetelijke Liedjes" (Unforgettable Songs), a concept devised by Simon that will be broadcast weekly in prime time on NPO1 by Avrotros starting October 30. Simon presents this program and, together with prominent Dutch artists, delves into their treasure trove in search of "forgotten" songs, which are then given a (new) lease of life and performed by well-known colleagues.
