After a short break, the guys from 3JS are back with their new single, "De Toekomst" (The Future). This is also the first song they've released in their new lineup with band member Robin.

De Toekomst was created in the Votown Studio based on the idea that the guys wanted to label their upcoming album as their "most positive and sunniest" album since their first album, Watermensen. The uptempo song had a rhythm that immediately felt like a 'car-driving rhythm' in the studio. Jan Dulles: "It immediately gave the feeling of cruising behind the wheel, which gave us the idea to refer to that in the lyrics: a car ride as a metaphor for life, a journey into the future."

Whether it's a career, as in our case, or a new job, a new relationship, or the birth of your first child. The road moves along, past mountains and valleys, rough patches, and unexpected turns. Yesterday you thought something was still far away, and tomorrow it's already behind you.

The goal is to reach the end of your life with your car on cruise control on a quiet road, but until then, it's a battle for the left lane. That's how we drive into the future. We still have a long way to go. It may take a miracle to get where we want to go, but we're going with our gut feeling. Above all, we're staying positive: the best is yet to come.

This summer, the 3JS announced their club tour, which will take them to 12 venues across the Netherlands. With "De Toekomst" (The Future), the 3JS are kicking off their new album, which will be released next year.
