Today, Friday, September 11, Nick & Simon's brand new single "Oostenwind" will be released.
The song was written during writing sessions in which the songs and sound of Simon & Garfunkel served as inspiration and starting point. "Many of our songs have a hopeful message. But sometimes something intense happens in people's lives, and there is no happy ending at all," says Nick, who wrote the lyrics. Nick & Simon chose an element from nature for this song: the biting east wind. "We live on the IJsselmeer, and the east wind is always unfavorable for us. That was in my head."
In addition to "Oostenwind," the session with Gordon Groothedde yielded another gem that can be found on the new album NSG, due out later this fall. The concept album, in Dutch, will be released on November 6.
On November 27, 28, and 29, Nick & Simon will perform at the Coronaproof Scala theater in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, where a limited number of tickets are still available via NTK.nl, as are tickets for the recently announced performance at the M-theater Maastricht on December 10.
